RULES and PROCEDURES

P. B. I. S (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support)

We have a school wide behavior program.  The students can earn Bloodhound Bucks for demonstrating the BARK expectations in the classroom and anywhere at school.

Teachers determine rewards for accumulating a certain amount of Bloodhound Bucks. Rewards can be stickers, a special treat, getting to sit at the teacher’s desk, extra recess, just to name a few.

B. A. R. K. Expectations

At JES, students are taught the school-wide BARK expectations.

B - Be Safe

A - Act Responsibly

R - Respect Self, Others, and Property

K - Keep Connected

Water bottles & Snacks

When in school for in-person learning, students are encouraged, but not required, to bring a healthy snack and water bottle to school each day. Teachers will provide a time to eat the snack and opportunities to refill water bottles as needed. Please label your child's water bottle and send ONLY water in the bottle.

Personal Items from Home

Toys, trading cards, cell phones, gaming devices, and so forth should not be brought to school during in-person learning. These items are not allowed out to play with or share with other students.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays at JES!  Birthdays will be celebrated in each classroom. Birthday treats are allowed to be brought to school, but they need to be store-bought and easily passed out during lunch (so that we do not lose instructional time). Please contact your child's teacher ahead of time to ask when a good time to in a treat. Per the student handbook, birthday invitations should not be passed out at school.
